Orwell Initial Teacher Training
Make a difference and inspire the next generation …
Most people can remember a truly brilliant teacher from school who made a real difference to their lives. As a teacher you can use your knowledge and passion to help children unlock capabilities and talents that they didn’t even know they had. You’ll develop a wide range of transferable skills for yourself in the process, too.
Teaching in a Primary school is about much more that planning and teaching a range of engaging lessons. You will also find yourself using your hobbies and passion to spark new interests in children by getting involved in lunchtime and after-school clubs, trips, music and sport.
As well as job satisfaction, teaching also offers great opportunities to develop and advance yourself so you can look forward to a career that is both personally and financially rewarding with competitive salaries and a generous pension.
Why train with us?
The Orwell Education Alliance’s constituent schools have been training teachers for many years as we have always believed in the importance of using our skilled practitioners to develop the next generation of teachers. We are proud of our track record in producing consistently good and outstanding teachers who often progress rapidly to positions of leadership or added responsibility. We have an established process that takes our trainees through an induction and training programme including detailed mentor meetings, and placement in a year group team. Key to our success has been consistent high expectations backed by the expertise of our mentors who are outstanding practitioners able to challenge and coach trainees to a high standard. We *will* challenge you but with that challenge will come close support to help you develop the depth of skill and practical experience you need to become an outstanding teacher.
Through our excellent contacts with other schools, training partners and organisations as well as the diverse community our schools serve we can ensure that training and development is tailored to your needs and ambitions.
